Ramallah, Palestine, August 16, 2023: The President of the Palestine Olympic Committee, Maj. Gen. Jibril Rajoub, signed a three-year sports uniform sponsorship with Senegalese company JSPORTS on Tuesday, August 15.
The sponsorship was signed at the Palestine Olympic Committee Headquarters in Ramallah in the presence of JSPORTS representative Jamil Fay and POC Secretary General Abdul Majid Hijjeh.
Under the agreement, the Senegalese company will sponsor Palestine national teams for the next three years at continental and international sporting events starting from the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China next month and until the Youth Olympic Games in the Senegal capital of Dakar in 2026.
The uniform of the sporting delegation for the September 23 to October 8 Asian Games was unveiled during the signing ceremony with the design based on the kufiyya, a traditional headdress worn by men, and other elements and symbols representing Palestine.
The POC President urged all sporting associations to do their best at the Asian Games and other international events, and to fly the Palestine flag proudly.
In his turn, Jamil Fay expressed his happiness at signing the agreement which he said was “historic” as it was the first time the company was doing business with an organisation outside the borders of the African continent.
Mr. Fay also praised the Palestine Olympic Committee and the Rajoub team for the confidence they had placed in JSPORTS.
