Hangzhou, China, August 8, 2023: The Asian Hockey Federation has released the pools and competition schedule for the men’s and women’s hockey competitions at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The AHF said in a statement dated August 8: “The schedule for the much-anticipated hockey competitions at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 has been unveiled. As anticipation mounts among sports enthusiasts, the revelation brings a clear picture of the journey that lies ahead for the participating teams.
“The hockey event at the Asian Games has always been a highlight, showcasing the incredible skill, determination and sportsmanship of the athletes from across the continent.
“This year, the excitement is palpable as both the men’s and women’s teams are divided into two pools each, setting the stage for fierce yet exhilarating battles on the field.”
The hockey competition will begin on September 24, the day after the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games, and end on October 7 – the day before the closing ceremony.
The men’s final will be on Friday, October 6, and the women’s final will close the programme on Saturday, October 7.
Japan won both the men’s and women’s gold medals at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018.
