Amman, Jordan, August 7, 2023: The Olympic Preparation Centre in Amman, which is managed by the Jordan Olympic Committee, is hosting a joint training camp between the Jordanian and Iranian national boxing teams over the next two weeks.
Jordan’s Cuban national team coach, Scott Dagoberto, said the intensive training camp would feature two daily sessions in order to help both delegations prepare for upcoming major international competitions, including the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, and next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
The boxers will participate in sparring sessions against each other to enable coaches to analyse their performances and improve technique.
Iran’s Technical Director, Amiri Hamaboun, also stated the importance of the training camp: “We chose to camp with the Jordanian boxing team because they have exceptional fighters in their ranks, which we noticed during the last World Championship.”
