Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 7, 2023: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of former national doubles player Gan Teik Chai, who passed away on August 5 at the age of 40.
Together with Koo Kien Keat and Tan Bin Shen, he won the 2004 French International and 2009 Australian Open, respectively.
“The thoughts of everyone at the Association are with Teik Chai, his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time,” a statement said.
Retired great Lee Chong Wei, who referred to him as "Ah Gan", posted his own moving tribute and added: “One day, some where...we will pick up our rackets... and play the sports we love again.. bro.. RIP.”
