Singapore, August 2, 2023: The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) organised a workshop on values-based activities for coaches and sports educators in Character and Leadership Development through Sports (CLDS) on July 28.
The SEARADO workshop, which was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and held in collaboration with CoachSG, was part of the Game For Life (GFL) - Community of Practice (CoP) initiative.
The GFL framework provides sports educators with a structured approach in CLDS, and school PE teachers and coaches have adopted the framework into sports lessons and programmes to promote values through sports.
The workshop introduced the activities and tools of Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) and Drug Free Sport NZ (DFSNZ) to promote sports values and develop practical life skills like decision-making and clean sport.
“Participants had a great time involving in the practical sessions,” SEARADO said.
“SEARADO would like to thank all the presenters from SIA, JADA and DFSNZ, as well as the participants. We would also like to encourage all participants to carry out and promote these activities.”
