Baghdad, Iraq, July 25, 2023: Two Vice Presidents of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, Dr. Aqeel Muften and Mr. Samir Al-Mousawi, attended the final of the inaugural Iraq Rugby Sevens League on Sunday, July 23.
The final match was between Borders Club and Health and Environment Club with Borders winning 21-5.
Both NOC Vice Presidents participated in the prize distribution which was also attended by other NOC executive members, a representative from the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the President of the Iraq Rugby Federation, Fareeq Abdullah.
A total of six teams participated in the ground-breaking Iraq Rugby League Sevens tournament. They were Borders, Health and Environment, Al-Husseiniyah, Al-Muteqin, Zalouiyah and Al-Qadisiyah.
