Tehran, Iran, July 23, 2023: The President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, and the head of the Iranian Cultural Artefacts Association, Mahmoud Shalouee, have signed an MoU to recognise and pay tribute to Iran’s sporting achievements.

The Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed on July 19, will enable both parties to promote the successes and accomplishments of national sports heroes and champions and the impact they have had on Iran’s national identity.

One of the main tasks of the MoU is the identification and commemoration of national sporting heroes, using museum facilities and national libraries among other services.

One of the goals of this project is to preserve the country’s sports and cultural heritage and to hold joint conferences to disseminate this knowledge both locally and internationally.

The cooperation between the NOC and the Iranian Cultural Artefacts Association will also lead to the implementation of scientific, research and sports programmes and the publishing of books detailing the glory of Iranian sports.
