Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 16, 2023: The Olympic Council of Malaysia has congratulated its President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, on being appointed Chair of the Olympic Council of Asia Sports for All Committee.
The new OCA President, Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah, confirmed his appointment in a letter dated July 12 and said he was looking forward to working with the OCM President in order to promote the Olympic movement in Asia and to strengthen friendship.
In a post on its Facebook account, the OCM said: “The OCM and all its affiliates are proud to convey our heartiest congratulations to our President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, for being appointed as the Chair of the Sports for All Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for the quadrennial term of 2023-2027.
“With this special appointment, Tan Sri Dr. Norza will now be officially sitting in the Executive Board of the OCA.
“Prior to this appointment, Tan Sri Dr. Norza was a member of the OCA International Relations Committee for the quadrennial term of 2019-2023.”
The OCM President commented: “I am looking forward to serving the Olympic Movement at the Continental level.
“I would also like to express my deepest gratitude and sincere thanks to H.E. Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Sabah, the newly elected President of the OCA, for his trust given to me to be in his line-up to promote the Olympic Movement in Asia to a greater height.”
