AESF President Kenneth Fok envisions bright future for Asian Esports

Shenzhen, China, July 14, 2023: The President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), Kenneth Fok, attended the Global Esports Summit at the World Exhibition & Convention Centre in Shenzhen, China, on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Under the theme “Link to Future”, the global summit gathered industry experts, visionaries and leaders from around the world to delve into exciting new opportunities and explore the future of the booming Esports industry.

Kenneth Fok, with his wealth of experience and deep understanding of the Esports landscape, delivered a speech titled “United for a Bright Future of Asian Esports”. He emphasized the united spirit of Asian Esports and envisions a bright future at the Global Esports Summit 2023.

"Asian Esports has emerged as an outstanding leader in this booming industry, driven by collaboration and unity among Esports communities, athletes, publishers and stakeholders,” he said.

“Our success is evident in the remarkable revenue growth, with Asia and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) accounting for 56% of global Esports revenue. We are grateful for the support and cooperation of the Olympic Council of Asia and National Olympic Committees, member associations, partners, publishers and Esports athletes and fans in realising this dream.”

The AESF President also highlighted the recent achievements of the Road to Asian Games programme and mentioned the upcoming RDAG Regionals in Hangzhou and Seoul. Additionally, he announced the introduction of the AESF Asian Cup, a premier international Esports competition that will shape the industry for years to come. 

AESF remains committed to fostering sustainable development, strengthening infrastructure and nurturing the next generation of Esports talents. 

Kenneth Fok called upon all organisations and stakeholders to join AESF in creating a sustainable, inclusive and thriving Esports ecosystem in Asia and beyond.

The summit also witnessed a momentous occasion as the AESF and the Pan American Esports Confederation (PAMESCO) celebrated the signing of an extended agreement to their Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement, presented by Sebastian Lau, AESF's Director General, marks a significant step in fostering collaboration and innovation between the two governing bodies.

Under the extended agreement, AESF and PAMESCO will collaborate on various initiatives, including the development of the ASIA-PAN AMERICA Champions CUP competition. Additionally, they will create opportunities to promote unity between the continents.

Sebastian Lau officially presented the signed MOU alongside Daniel Cossi from PAMESCO.

The newly elected OCA President, Sheikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah, also sent his congratulations letter to Global Esports Summit.
