Hangzhou, China, July 1, 2023: The Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC) reports that the Pre-Delegation Registration Meetings (Pre-DRMs) with National Olympic Committees have been completed.
This announcement marks a major step on the road to the 19th Asian Games as it means that all the athletes have been registered into the accreditation system.
The final stage of the Sport Entry process for the 45 NOCs is Entry by Name, which closes on July 15. After this date, HAGOC will know exactly how many athletes from each of the 45 NOCs will take part in the 19th Asian Games and provide an overall total of athletes and officials.
Later, HAGOC and the NOCs will coordinate the final Delegation Registration Meetings on site in Hangzhou.
HAGOC conducted the Pre-Delegation Registration Meetings with all 45 participating NOCs via video conferencing from May 22 to June 30.
Pre-DRMs are necessary for NOCs taking part in the Asian Games. With the accreditation stage completed, the release of the Sport Entry Manual and Entry by Name now underway, NOCs have been focusing more attention on the Hangzhou Asian Games and stepping up their communication with HAGOC for the final stretch of the Games preparations.
The Pre-DRMs were conducted by HAGOC's NOC Services and Relations team. During the meetings, NOCs had in-depth discussions with the related Functional Areas and Asian Games Village and Sub-Village operations teams regarding Sport Entries, Accreditation, Accommodation, Arrivals & Departures, Asian Games Village and Sub-village operations as well as others key issues of the preparatory work.
NOCs also expressed their high anticipation for the Hangzhou Asian Games, which will be held from September 23 to October 8 with 40 sports, 61 disciplines and 483 events in Hangzhou and five co-host cities in Zhejiang province in eastern China.
