Asian Games expert from Doha briefs CTOC workshop on international sports event management

Taipei City, June 17, 2023: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee organised a workshop to introduce the topic of international sports event management.

The workshop was held in Taipei City on June 12 and featured two lectures by a distinguished expert from the Qatar Olympic Committee, Mr. Louis Louis.

The first lecture, entitled "Doha 2006 Legacy and Doha 2030 Strategy," highlighted the experiences and strategies of the organising committee of the Doha 2006 Asian Games, as well as the legacies for the host country and city.

Participants also learned about the vision and successful bidding strategies for Doha 2030 – the second Asian Games to be held in the Qatari capital.

In his second lecture, "Developing an Evaluation Plan and Strategy for Bidding," Mr. Louis shared his expertise and innovative ideas, providing participants with actionable strategies and crucial considerations for developing a successful bid to host a multi-sport event.

In addition to the lectures, the workshop included a general discussion session moderated by Mr. Alex Chou, Professor from National Taiwan Sport University.

The session served as a platform for the invited expert, officials from the Sport Administration, Ministry of Education, city governments, representatives from CTOC and national sport federations to engage in insightful conversation and exchange ideas, which is the purpose of the workshop.
