Male, Maldives, June 14, 2023: The Maldives Olympic Committee has named a clutch of Chefs de Mission for upcoming international multi-sports games in 2023.
In an announcement on Tuesday, June 13, the Maldives Olympic Committee named four Chefs de Mission, including Abdul Ghafoor Abdul Hameed who will head the Maldivian delegation to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
The other three delegation leaders are Ms. Aminath Ali, who will be at the head of the national squad for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago from August 4-11; Mohamed Jaushan Shareef, CdM for the ANOC World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia from August 5-12; and Abdul Nafiu Thaufeeq, CdM for the Indian Ocean Island Games in Antananarivo, Madagascar from August 25 to September 3.
The Maldives Olympic Committee extended its best wishes to all four CdMs and expressed its confidence in the leadership abilities of these distinguished individuals and was confident their guidance would enable the athletes to achieve their fullest potential.
