Tajikistan NOC holds Olympic Solidarity course for sport administrators

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, June 11, 2023: The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan held an Olympic Solidarity National Course for Sport Administrators in the Khovaling District.

The three-day course from June 7-9 was attended by representatives of schools and sports organisations of cities in the Khatlon region.

Specialists from the Tajikistan NOC conducted the course and gave lectures on various topics, including the World Olympic Movement, Sports Games, Olympic values, supporting athletes, management of sports organisations and leadership skills.

During the discussion on Sports Games, it was noted that the Olympic Games was the highest peak in the field of sports. The procedure for picking a host city by the International Olympic Committee was explained to participants.

It was also revealed that, apart from the core number of 28 sports, the Paris Olympics in 2024 will have four extra sports – breaking, which will make its Olympic Games debut, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing.

Participants at the Olympic Solidarity course were also told that the Olympic Winter Games and Youth Olympic Games, both summer and winter, were also held every four years under the auspices of the IOC.
