Tagaytay, Philippines, June 4, 2023: The Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run series will take in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines on Monday, June 5.

The City of Tagaytay is located in the province of Cavite, just 60km from the capital Manila. Tagaytay is famous because of its lush mountain scenery and cooler climate provided by its altitude.

Tagaytay overlooks Taal Lake in Batangas and provides views of Taal Volcano Island in the middle of the lake through various vantage points situated in the city.

The link between Tagaytay and the Philippine Olympic Committee is that the POC President, Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, is the Mayor of Tagaytay City. He will be leading the VIP guests at the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run on Monday morning along with the Philippines’ Chef de Mission for the Asian Games, matinee idol, national fencing association president and Congressman Richard Gomez.

With the support of the POC’s Athletes Committee, the Fun Run will also include several national team athletes including wushu star Agatha Wong, Olympic boxer Eumir Marcial and the obstacle course athletes.

The Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee will also be represented, as will the Olympic Council of Asia through Projects and Operations Manager Wissam Trkmani and Media and Broadcast Director Jeans Zhou Jian.

The fun run is due to start at 6am and this will be followed by a press conference at 7.30am featuring an exhibition of entries for the Asian Games Children’s Art Competition.
