Kathmandu, Nepal, June 4, 2023: The Nepal Olympic Committee began a three-week long celebration of Olympic Day 2023 with a cycle rally on Saturday, June 3.
The Nepal Olympic Committee Sports for All Commission in collaboration with the Nepal Cycling Association held a cycle rally from Basantpur to the NOC Headquarters in Satdobato.
NOC President Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha officiated at the ceremony.
The cycle rally will be the first of a series of events which will be held by Nepal sports federations to celebrate Olympic Day 2023 which falls on June 23.
In other cycling news, an Olympic Solidarity Technical Course for coaches in cycling got underway on June 1 and will run until June 7. Englishman Chester Hill, a cross-country expert, will run the week-long course which is being attended by 15 coaches.
Vice President and NOC Executive Director Chaturananda Rajvaidya was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Also present was the President of the Nepal Cycling Association and NOC Member Gopal Sunder Lal Kakshapati.
