Bishkek hosts Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run on International Children’s Day

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, June 1, 2023: More than 200 children took part in the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run at Ala Too Square in the Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek on Thursday, June 1.

The President of the National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Mamytov; HAGOC representative and Deputy Director of Human Resources Department, Yu Yongtao; OCA Projects and Operations Manager Wissam Trkmani and Ms. Du Dewen, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic, attended the fun run.

The event was well supported by the locals, as more than 600 people watched the 1km fun run which was accompanied by displays of traditional sports and culture.

As a special gift from the Olympic Council of Asia to celebrate International Children’s Day, all 200 youngsters were awarded a Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run Medal after they completed the fun run.

Ms. Du Dewen highly praised the Kyrgyzstan leg of the Asian Games Fun Run in the capital after she personally awarded medals to the participants.

“Today’s fun run is a great success and, thanks to all the excellent work of the Kyrgyzstan National Olympic Committee, we can see from the children’s smiling faces that they are happy and enjoyed the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run,” said Ms. Du.
