Sanya City, China, January 23, 2020: The organising committee of the OCA’s sixth Asian Beach Games Sanya 2020 took a big step forward on the marketing front on Wednesday, January 22.
Licensed products in seven categories were sold to the public for the first time, including stuffed toys, home textile products, sports waist bags, handicrafts and badges.
The licensed store of the 6th ABG 2020, covering 30 square meters in the lobby of the Mangrove Tree Resort World in Sanya Bay, created a festive atmosphere.
Organising committee SABGOC has set up two eye-catching outlets for licensed products in the business street of the hotel, with one located in the hotel lobby and the other in Today's Art Fair. Many customers were immediately attracted to the stores when they were opened for the first time.
In addition, two other points of sale in Zhanfang Floriculture Center in the urban area were also opened, selling licensed products simultaneously.
Zhou Jun, Deputy Secretary General of SABGOC and Deputy Mayor of the Sanya Municipal People's Government, as well as other guests attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the licensed store of the Games. They also took a close look at a variety of commodities and bought mascot Ya Ya.
These Sanya-themed cultural and creative products are all created with independent intellectual property rights. Not only are they beautifully made but the prices of the main commodities vary from 10 yuan to several hundred yuan, meeting the needs of mainstream customers.
As an important part of the marketing of the 6th ABG 2020, licensed products will further promote the brand of the Games, displaying the Chinese style and the charm of Hainan and Sanya to Asia and the rest of the world. They will also allow the public to participate in the event.
During the Spring Festival, SABGOC will explore the mechanism of "Sports + Tourism" by taking advantage of the peak travel season to promote the ABG with tourists.
The 6th ABG will be held in Sanya, Hainan from November 28 to December 6, 2020. It is the first time for Hainan to hold a continental-level multi-sport event, which is also the only continental-level multi-sport event to be held in China in 2020.
