Bhutan NOC President highlights importance of collaboration, synergy at ExCo meeting

Thimphu, Bhutan, May 31, 2023: The Bhutan Olympic Committee held its 23rd Executive Committee meeting under the patronage of HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck at the BOC Headquarters in Thimphu on Tuesday, May 30.

In his address, the BOC President spoke about the future direction of the development of sports in the country and emphasised the importance of collaboration and synergy, where knowledge and expertise are shared, and best practices are embraced.

As the governing body responsible for the development and promotion of sports in Bhutan, the Executive Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the BOC.

The meeting was particularly significant, featuring essential agenda like amendments to its Constitution, and aiming to ensure clarity and seamless implementation of its governance mandates.

Diverse topics, including the Revised Entitlement Rules, Sports Prioritisation, Investment Guidelines, progress of infrastructural projects, the 2021-2024 Olympiad report and a review of the Daily Subsistence Allowance sports fund, were also deliberated by the Executive Committee.

The former President of Bhutan Indigenous Games and Sports Association, Lyonpo Kinzang Dorji, was appointed as an advisor to the BOC by Prince Jigyel.
