Beijing, China, May 27, 2023: The President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, was the keynote speaker in a digital sports industry summit in Beijing.
Mr. Fok, who is also Chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, joined the 2023 ZGC Forum organised jointly by the Zhongguancun Development (ZGC) Group, the Hong Kong-based AESF and the Olympic Council of Asia.
The aim of the parallel forum was to explore the future of the digital sports industry, and one of the hot topics was the official debut of esports as a full medal sport in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China this September and October.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the success of the forum, AESF President Kenneth Fok remarked: "I would like to express my gratitude to our strategic partners - China Mobile Migu and Zhongguancun Development Group - for organising this forum with us.
“I also extend my thanks to the Olympic Council of Asia, relevant national ministries and the Beijing Municipal People's Government for their strong support.
“The integration of traditional sports and digital technology presents valuable industrial opportunities. With the support of our partners, our goal is to strengthen the digital economy and solidify Beijing's position as a benchmark city for the industry,” he added.
With the AESF, ZGC Group and OCA joining forces, the insights, ideas and transformative possibilities that emerged from this momentous gathering will undoubtedly pave the way for a digital sports industry that transcends boundaries and creates opportunities for all.
The highly anticipated forum brought together global leaders, sports science and technology think tanks, industry partners and new technological talents to discuss the great potential of digital sports, its application with support of technology and various possibilities with digital sports.
One of the main topics was Technology Development and Application in Digital Sports Events, and the remarkable growth and impact of esports in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games were examined as a prime example.
