Tehran, Iran, May 21, 2023: The seventh and final session of the Women’s Management and Leadership in Sports seminar organised by the Iran National Olympic Committee was successfully concluded last Friday, May 20.
The final session was held under the auspices of the Iran NOC Vice President Dr. Mahin Farhadizad and in the presence of NOC Solidarity Director Dr. Sara Mehrani and visiting lecturer Karolina Hesse.
“This training course in seven sessions was aimed and held in order to improve and develop the management and leadership skills of women in sports organisations, in particular athletes, coaches, managers and officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, National Federations, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, NOC and the National Olympic Academy,” Dr. Farhadizad pointed out.
With special emphasis placed on the transition of athletes from sports to a career, Karolina Hesse presented a two-hour discourse on the experiences of other countries regarding the training and career transfer methods of its athletes.
Dr. Mohammad Kazem Vaez Mousavi also discussed the mental skills of leaders in sports.
Meanwhile the Ethics and Sports Commission of the Iran NOC held its 67th meeting at the NOC Headquarters in Tehran on May 20.
At the meeting it was decided that the country’s Code of Ethics and Sports should be revised and submitted at the next General Assembly for approval. It was also decided that the Judicial Board of Ethics and Sports Commission should include representatives of sports organisations, Olympic medallists, lawyers and members of the media.
