Manama, Bahrain, May 18, 2023: Bahrain Olympic Committee organised the Asian Games Fun Run on Thursday, May 18.
The 21st leg of the overseas fun run series attracted 1,500 participants and showed the passion and enthusiasm for sport in Bahrain, and particularly the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September and October.
It also highlighted how sport brings together people of all ages and all walks of life to enjoy the moment together.
The Bahrain Fun Run was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Khaled Al Khalifa and involved distances of 1km and 3km. The top three in each race category were rewarded with medals, certificates and cash prizes to celebrate their exceptional achievements.
The Hangzhou delegation was led by Mr. Xie Ning, Deputy Director of Supervision and Audit Dept, Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee.
The race witnessed the presence of notable figures including Mr. Ni Rocci, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Wissam Trkmani, OCA Projects and Operations Manager, H.E. Mr. Faris Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Mr. Xie Ning and other representatives from HAGOC alongside other distinguished guests.
