OCA’s Asian Games Fun Run moves to Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh, May 16, 2023: The Asian Games Fun Run has moved to Bangladesh for the next stage of the series on Wednesday, May 17.

To promote the event, a press conference was held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association HQ on Tuesday in the presence of BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and delegates from the Olympic Council of Asia and Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee.

BOA treasurer and Bangladesh’s Chef de Mission for the 19th Asian Games, AK Sarkar, said the fun run rally would start from Shishu Academy at 7.30am and end at Sheikh Russel Roller Skating Complex.

The fun run is open to all participants. Following the fun run, all the runners will receive medals and certificates, he added.

The head of the HAGOC delegation, Meng Sanshan, expressed heartfelt thanks to the OCA, BOA and all friends in the community who have been following and supporting the preparation for the Hangzhou Asian Games, which will run from September 23 to October 8.

He said the Asian Games Fun Run to be held in Dhaka symbolizes the good relations between the two great cities and will help spread joy across Asia, enhance friendship among people in countries and regions around Asia and increase public interest in the Hangzhou Asian Games.

“The Fun Run spreads happiness and builds anticipation for the Games. It embodies unity and hope in closing,” the HAGOC delegate said.

The OCA delegation comprised Jeans Zhou Jian, Director of Media and Broadcasting, and Ramireddy Kona, video and photographer, while the HAGOC representatives were Meng Sanshan (deputy director of finance department), Zhang Chunling (deputy chief of general affairs, finance department) and Xia Shijie (south Asian coordinator).
