Oman Olympic Committee presents ‘A Step Forward’ workshop with aim of empowering women sports leaders

Muscat, Oman, May 18, 2023: The Oman Olympic Committee, represented by its Oman Women Sports and Gender Equality Committee, has organised "A Step Forward" workshop in collaboration with Ooredoo, the Omani Qatari Telecommunications company.

The workshop, which aims at self-development and empowering women sports leaders, will run from Thursday, May 18 to July 28 at the Intercity Hotel Muscat, and will be presented by Aisha bint Salem Al Shuaili, Head of Social Responsibility Department for Branding Companies and Communications at Ooredoo.

The programme, held within the framework of the Oman Women Sports and Gender Equality Committee’s goal to develop women sports in Oman, will focus mainly on career development and professional advancement by preparing participants in improving skills, training and guiding them, and enhancing a teamwork culture.

A total of five workshops will be held over this period with the participation of around 20 trainees of women sports leaders from national federations, the NOC, sports clubs, and departments affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

A number of qualified speakers will make presentations on varied topics from communication to developing basic leadership skills.
