CTOC signs bilateral cooperation agreement with Palau NOC

Taipei, May 16, 2023: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and Palau National Olympic Committee have reaffirmed their commitment to sports exchange and collaboration by signing bilateral cooperation agreements.

The signing ceremony was held on May 15, 2023, with the presence of CTOC President Mr. Hong-Dow Lin and PNOC President Mr. Frank Kyota.

Building on a longstanding history of international cooperation, the CTOC has successfully inked sports exchange agreements with nearly 40 National Olympic Committees across five continents since 1979.

In 2017, CTOC and Palau National Olympic Committee signed their first cooperation agreement and this year the CTOC extended an invitation to the PNOC to renew and further strengthen their friendship.

The agreement encompasses a wide range of collaborative areas, including sports exchange, staff exchange, medical science, anti-doping initiatives and the development of the National Olympic Academy. By fostering these exchanges, both organisations aim to enhance their respective sporting programmes, while promoting friendship and understanding between Chinese Taipei and Palau.

Ms. Baklai Temengil, Secretary General of Palau NOC and also an IOC member, will be a keynote lecturer at the 2023 International Sports Affairs Training Course hosted by CTOC during this visit to Taiwan. With her extensive experience in international sports diplomacy and advocacy for gender equality and sustainable development, Ms. Temengil's insights are anticipated to greatly enhance the programme's success.

The CTOC and PNOC are thrilled to embark on this new chapter of collaboration, which signifies shared commitment to sports excellence, cultural exchange and the Olympic values.
