Jerusalem, Palestine, May 12, 2023: The Palestine Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Olympic Council of Asia and Palestine Athletics Federation, held the Asian Games Fun Run at the Majid Assad Sports Complex on Friday, May 12.
The event attracted 800 participants in different age groups and served to promote the 19th Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
The other partners were Jawwal – brand name of the Palestine Cellular Communications Co – and Paltel, Palestine Telecommunications.
The previous day, the POC conducted the Asian Games Children’s Art Competition in association with the School Sports Federation. The event was held in Independence Park and gave the students the opportunity to depict the Asian Games, the various sports at the Asian Games and their favourite athletes.
The local cycling federation also joined in the fun run programme, and participants received medals and certificates in the presence of POC Secretary General Abed Al Majeed Hijjeh and other sports leaders.
The POC Secretary General welcomed all participants to the fun run, which was held in a friendly and festive atmosphere, and congratulated the organisers and partners for a successful event which displayed the Olympic values.
