Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 3, 2023: Senior officials of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan welcomed leading German medical expert Christian Schneider at the NOC Headquarters in Tashkent on Tuesday, May 2.
The Secretary General of Uzbekistan NOC, Oybek Kasimov, was on hand to receive Schneider, who is the head of the Medical Expert Committee of the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
The main topic of discussion centred on the current state of sports medicine in Uzbekistan and how Germany’s leading expert in this field could help especially in the lead-up to the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Tashkent.
The Uzbekistan NOC is currently signing strategic cooperation agreements with experts in all areas, and sports medicine is one key area with an eye on the AYG showpiece.
Discussions revolved on the significance of the field of medicine in the preparation of young athletes for the AYG, and the importance of training doctors working with national sports federations.
Schneider also visited the Scientific and Practical Centre of Sports Medicine of the Uzbekistan NOC. He met the head of the Sports Medicine Centre and other experts and was briefed on the work done there.
