Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, May 2, 2023: The Gender Equality Commission of the Mongolia National Olympic Committee conducted the Olympic Council of Asia’s “Social Development through Olympism and Education" project in Ulaanbaatar for the second year.
Within the framework of this project, Mongolia NOC successfully organised two seminars. The first seminar was attended by 30 female representatives of sports administrators and physical education teachers from 21 provinces and nine districts, and the second by over 30 female athletes of 16 sports federations.
The seminar topics were essential for female administrators and athletes, such as the prevention of the manipulation of competitions, women's empowerment, sports nutrition and injury prevention.
As part of the seminar, Mongolia NOC organised friendly table tennis and badminton competitions to create a desire to practise new sports and to improve communication among the participants.
Overall, the seminars received the participants' appreciation and will raise the voice for safeguarding the training environment, and female human resource activities.
Mongolia NOC plans to organise more events in the field of promoting female athletes among the children of orphanages and remote districts in order to create an interest in practising sports and encourage an active lifestyle.
Sports participation and physical activity can promote and build life skills and confidence and can create social networks that will result in positive life changes for women and girls.
