POA President lauds archer Hafiz Abdur Rehman on ICECP success

Lahore, Pakistan, May 1, 2023: The President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Lt. Gen. (retd) Syed Arif Hasan, has congratulated national archer Hafiz Abdur Rehman for completing the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programme.

Pakistan Archery Head Coach Rehman, 33, who benefited from an IOC Olympic Solidarity scholarship, received the ICECP that was offered by the University of Delaware in partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

Graduating from the Class of 2020-2023 at a special ceremony in Lausanne last week, Rehman received his certificate from International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

His efforts were applauded by POA President Syed Arif Hasan who reiterated that the POA was committed to securing more educational and training programmes for talented national athletes.

Rehman was one of 44 coaches from five continents, 27 countries and 17 sports who completed an intensive four-module coaching education programme which focused on improving coaching infrastructure in their home countries.

Rehman has started a series of archery coaching courses in Pakistan and has also been instrumental in developing archery standards in Pakistan with the national federation.

Pakistan’s athletes and coaches continue to benefit from IOC Olympic Solidarity programmes, and help to build the country’s capacity for advanced sports training.
