Farhad Toloukian appointed advisor to Iran NOC President

Tehran, Iran, April 25, 2023: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Iran, Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, has appointed Farhad Toloukian as NOC President Advisor and Directorate Chair.

Toloukian has previously held positions such as Advisor to the President and Director of Public Relations at the Paralympic Committee of Iran and President of the Iran Zurkhaneh Sports Federation – a deep-rooted traditional Iranian sport which combines martial arts, calisthenics, strength training and music.

He is also a board member at Paykan Tehran Sports Club.

Meanwhile the Iran NOC continued to monitor the progress of five more sports pencilled in for participation at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. 

Basketball, volleyball, handball, sepak takraw and jujitsu participated in a coordination meeting at the NOC Headquarters in Tehran last week and presented their plans and reported on the chances of winning medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games from September 23 to October 8. 

Iran is set to send athletes in 30 sports for the Asian Games.
