Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 12, 2023: The President of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has praised volunteer work in sports in the Emirates saying “Volunteerism has become a well-established culture in UAE society".

The UAE NOC President was speaking on the occasion to mark Zayed Humanitarian Day on Monday, April 10.

The Father of the Nation, the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, championed humanitarian and charity work in the UAE and abroad and instilled an inspiring ethos.

Sheikh Ahmed expressed his pride in the pioneering roles played by volunteers in organising and facilitating sports events in the Emirates and outlined the UAE NOC’s launch of a "Volunteers.Emirates" platform which would help unify all such efforts.

The UAE NOC launched its Volunteers.Emirates stage in cooperation with the Ministry of Community Development and the Emirates Foundation for Voluntary Work.

The end goal of this platform is to create a multi-disciplinary cadre which will consolidate the UAE’s position as a privileged location to host major international, continental and Arab sporting events.

HE Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, First Vice President of the UAE NOC, said: “Volunteering is one of the aspects that distinguish the people of the UAE. Volunteers are role models who impart positive impressions of our country to people from other countries.”
