Phnom Penh, Cambodia, April 7, 2023: After a few years of virtual meetings, the South East Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) held its first in-person board meeting on Tuesday, April 4 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
SEARADO reports that the meeting was very successful and covered updates from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and also from the SEA regional anti-doping organisation.
The agenda also included planning for the 32nd SEA Games to be held in Cambodia from May 5-17, anti-doping initiatives and the status of anti-doping education among member countries.
All members unanimously approved the revised version of the SEARADO constitution.
Also, there was a sharing experience by the Doping Control Agency of Thailand (DCAT) on the Memorandum of Understanding with Lao National Anti-Doping Organisation and by the Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (ADAMAS) on Governance and Operational Independence.
“SEARADO would like to thank the Cambodian Government, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Cambodia Anti-Doping Agency for hosting the meeting and their great hospitality. Thanks also goes to WADA for their support,” SEARADO said in a statement.
