Baghdad, Iraq, April 7, 2023: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, Mr. Raad Hammoudi, honoured a group of young taekwondo players and their coaches for their outstanding results in overseas competitions.
President Hammoudi said the junior and youth team players had represented the country with distinction at championships in Korea, Vietnam and Bulgaria and urged them to continue training hard as they had the makings of an Olympic champion.
On behalf of the Iraqi Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bahadli thanked the National Olympic Committee and in particular its President for the support offered to all national sports associations. It was this support, through coaching and training camps, that had produced these good results in overseas competitions, he added.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of Iraq NOC, Haitham Abdulhameed, and the Finance Secretary, Ahmed Sabry.
