SEA Games nations register over 12,000 athletes and officials for Cambodia 2023

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, April 6, 2023: The 11 nations of southeast Asia have shown their support for the first SEA Games to be held in Cambodia by submitting the names of over 12,000 athletes and officials.

Organising committee CAMSOC issued the size of the delegations from the 11 National Olympic Committees who will be converging on Phnom Penh and four co-host provinces for the 32nd SEA Games from May 5-17.

Seven of the 11 NOCs will be sending delegations of more than 1,000 athletes and officials in a grand total of 12,344. 

Regional powerhouse Thailand leads the way with 1,985, followed by Indonesia (1,802) and Vietnam (1,663).

Cambodia, hosting the SEA Games for the first time since the biennial event was first held in 1959, will enter 1,158 athletes and officials.

The delegation numbers are: Cambodia 1,158, Brunei 113, Indonesia 1,802, Laos 656, Malaysia 1,532, Myanmar 694, Philippines 1,342, Singapore 1,228, Thailand 1,985, Timor-Leste 171, Vietnam 1,663. Total: 12,344.
