Lahore, Pakistan, April 6, 2023: The Pakistan sports community celebrated International Day of Sports for Development and Peace (IDSDP) on Thursday, April 6, with many individuals and organisations holding up the symbolic white card to underline the message of how sport can help build a culture of peace around the world.

The campaign was led by the President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Lt. Gen. (retd) Syed Arif Hasan, who raised his #WhiteCard to mark IDSDP2023. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event.

In a statement on the POA website, President Syed Hasan urged the Pakistan sporting community to “raise your #WhiteCard and show that sport can overtake divisions, re-establish dialogue, and bring peace in our world.”

His message was supported by a number of sporting bodies and athletes in the country including the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and the Pakistan Para Archery Committee.

"This year we hold a #WhiteCard because we believe that sport can help achieve unity and global cooperation," said Pakistan Para Archery's Shah Manzar Farid.
