Thimphu, Bhutan, March 31, 2023: With the support of the Olympic Council of Asia, the Bhutan Olympic Committee has inaugurated the new Olympasia House.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday, March 30 and involved HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, His Majesty’s Representative and President of Bhutan Olympic Committee, and H.E Dr. Husain Al-Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia.
Olympasia House will serve as the new headquarters of the National Olympic Committee and is named after the OCA’s Olympasia Project – part of the OCA’s Olympic Solidarity Continental Programme which offers NOCs financial support in the building or upgrading of Olympic-related facilities.
A consecration ceremony presided by the former Tsugla Lopen Samten Dorji, along with monks from the Zhung Dratshang, was held to mark the occasion.
