Hanoi, Vietnam, April 4, 2023: Vietnam Olympic Committee reports that an Olympic Solidarity technical course for rowing coaches took place from March 30 to April 4 in Hanoi city.

The opening ceremony was held on March 30 with Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy General Secretary of the Ministry’s Sports Department, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duong, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Canoe, Rowing and Sailing Federation (VCRSF), and delegates.

Former Hong Kong, China national rowing coach Chris Perry, who led the OCA youth camp in rowing in Thailand in 2016 and is an internationally recognised instructor, was one of the World Rowing experts conducting the course.

Sixteen coaches from provinces throughout the country attended the course, which was funded by the IOC Olympic Solidarity and supported by World Rowing.

“The students are full of enthusiasm and attention for both the theory and practical sessions,” the VOC said. “In this course, the students can also learn about first aid and drowning prevention.”
