HE Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, First Vice President of the UAE NOC, said the inauguration of the NOC Youth Council was a positive step towards integrating young people in the field of Olympic work, and that they would be a reservoir for inventive ideas to advance the national Olympic movement.
The main focus of this young and ambitious group will be on developing new and innovative methods and ideas, promoting Olympic and sporting culture in all sectors of society, and to define and endorse the values of the UAE NOC in line with that of the International Olympic Committee.
Other tasks of the Youth Council will be to act as a link between the Emirati youth and the UAE NOC, whereby they will transfer the views of the local youth community on various sports issues to the UAE NOC, and also promote the latter’s initiatives.
Encouraging the local youth community to participate in sports will also be a key undertaking of the Youth Council.
