Oman Olympic Committee prepares for General Assembly

Muscat, Oman, March 26, 2023: The Chairman of the Oman Olympic Committee, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair, will preside over the General Assembly of the OOC on Tuesday, March 28.

The minutes of the last General Assembly held on February 28, 2022 will be ratified during the meeting and the annual report and final accounts for the fiscal year 2022 will be reviewed. The annual report also includes the most important business and administrative decisions taken by the Board of Directors.

The reports of Oman’s participation in key international competitions in 2022, including the 3rd GCC Games in Kuwait last May and the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey, last August will also be presented.

OOC activities and events for 2023 will be reviewed, the most important being Oman's participation in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the 2nd World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia, the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi, Thailand, and the 1st GCC Youth Games in the United Arab Emirates.

The celebration of Olympic Day 2023 and the programmes run by the Oman Olympic Academy and other OOC events will also be discussed.

The auditor’s report for the past year will also be presented at the General Assembly plus a draft estimated budget for 2023.

The General Assembly will conclude by discussing proposals submitted by members of the association, if any, and in accordance with the statutes of the OOC.
