Kathmandu, Nepal, March 23, 2023: The Secretary General of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Nilendra Raj Shrestha, bid farewell to fencer Payas Yonjan who is travelling to Hungary for the Individual Men’s Sabre World Cup in Budapest from March 24-26.
The Hungarian Fencing Federation has invited Yonjan for the competition. Yonjan is an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship holder.
Secretary General Shrestha gave his best wishes to Yonjan and told him to do his best in representing his country. He added that the experience gained from participating at the World Cup would also help the athlete in the future.
Also present at the farewell ceremony was NOC’s Executive Director and Vice President Chaturananda Rajvaidya, Assistant Secretary General Sujan Lal Shreshta and treasurer Anup Kapali. The President of Nepal Fencing Federation, Sunil Shrestha, also attended.
