Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 21, 2023: The President of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has welcomed 11 new members on to the Board of Directors and five sports federations into the UAE NOC sports family.
These decisions took place during an online conference last week chaired by the UAE NOC President, who gave his blessings to the new members and sports federations that have come on board.
Also taking part were First and Second Vice Presidents of the NOC, HE Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi and HE Mohammed Al-Mahmoud, respectively, HE Azza bint Sulaiman, NOC Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and various heads of sports federations and associations.
Sheikh Ahmed urged all sports federations to redouble efforts to enhance the chances of their athletes qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics, as well as to promote and develop sports at all levels.
The five sports federations which were welcomed into the General Assembly of the UAE NOC are badminton, squash, triathlon, modern pentathlon and Muay Thai/kickboxing.
