Hong Kong, China, March 17, 2023: Some of Asia’s leading female cricketers will be stepping into the spotlight at a six-team T20 tournament in Hong Kong, China next month.
The 2023 Cricket Hong Kong FairBreak Invitational T20 will feature 90 players from 36 countries and regions at the Kowloon Cricket Club from April 3-16.
As well as 12 players from Hong Kong, there will also be players from UAE, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, Kuwait, Japan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Tournament sponsor FairBreak is a global movement promoting opportunity, equality, diversity and inclusion, and cricket is the vehicle that drives this movement for women both on and off the pitch.
The inaugural FairBreak tournament was held in Dubai in 2022, broadcast to over 140 countries and watched by 50 million viewers.
The six women’s teams in Hong Kong are Tornadoes, Warriors, Spirit, Falcons, Sapphires and Barmy Army.
