Hangzhou, China, March 17, 2023: One of China’s most experienced sports leaders, Yang Shu’an, believes the “Three Cs” policy will lead to a successful 19th Asian Games this September and October.

Yang, Vice President of the Chinese Olympic Committee and Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC), provided his words of wisdom at the end of the 5th OCA Coordination Committee meeting on Thursday, March 16.

“We are now at a crucial time,” he said. “I believe the way forward is the ‘Three Cs’ – communication, consultation and coordination.”

Yang has worked closely with the OCA for many years, notably on the Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010, and is a key link between the OCA, COC and HAGOC.

Looking back on the 5th OCA Coordination Committee meeting, he said: “I believe it was very positive, very good and very clear; it has given us all a better understanding of all the policies and what we need to do for the next steps.”

Earlier in the meeting, the COC Vice President praised HAGOC for their “excellent and strong efforts” in keeping the preparations running smoothly, despite the challenges and difficulties caused by the pandemic over the past three years, and thanked them for their contribution to the Olympic movement and Asian Games.
