Vietnam leg of Asian Games Fun Run to celebrate International Women’s Day, Vietnam Sports Day

Hanoi, Vietnam, March 7, 2023: About 1,500 participants will join the Vietnam leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run in Hanoi on Wednesday morning, Dr. Le Tri Truong, Vice Chancellor of Bac Ninh Sport University, revealed at the official press conference on Tuesday, March 7. 

The press conference to promote the Asian Games Fun Run on March 8 was attended by leaders of Vietnam Sport Administration, Vietnam Olympic Committee, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) and Bac Ninh Sport University. 

The 14th leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run, organised by the Vietnam Olympic Committee and Bac Ninh Sport University, will take place at Bac Ninh Sport University in Tu Son City with the participation of officials, lecturers and students.  

It will also serve as a celebration of both International Women's Day (March 8) and Sports Day in Vietnam (March 27).  

Together with the 2km race around the university, other events include cultural performances, sports knowledge and a competition about the history of the Olympic Games and Asian Games. 

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Wissam Trkmani, OCA Director of Projects and Administration Affairs, expressed his firm belief that the Fun Run would be a great success due to the coordinated efforts of Bac Ninh Sport University and the Vietnam Olympic Committee in raising awareness of the Asian Games in particular and the continental Olympic Movement. 

Ms. Ye Hong, Deputy Director of HAGOC's Marketing Department, provided on update on the 19th Asian Games, which will take place from September 23 to October 8.
