Manama, Bahrain, January 20, 2020: The National Sports Day of Bahrain will be held on February 11, 2020, according to the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The decision to celebrate National Sports Day next month was taken last week by the board of directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the BOC President.
Sheikh Khalid, who is also first Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, also issued a decision to form an organising committee for the National Sports Day and that it be led by Mohammed Hassan Al-Nusuf, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The committee will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, January 21, and take all steps and action to implement a sports programme that is widespread and ensure maximum participation.
Bahrain has celebrated National Sports Day annually since 2017, following the decision by all National Olympic Committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council to adopt a sports day in the second week of February.
