India’s sports stars to gather for ‘Trailblazers’ forum

Kolkata, India, March 3, 2023: India’s sporting community will join forces in a “Trailblazers” convention to honour and discuss sporting excellence on Sunday, March 5.

The likes of Olympic champions Abhinav Bindra (shooting) and Neeraj Chopra (javelin), who will join online, will be among a host of Indian sporting luminaries past and present for the one-day conclave hosted by RevSportz in partnership with Tata Steel.

Sport is one platform in the world that does not discriminate against caste, gender or race, and glorifies positive values of respect and equality. India, as a new vibrant sporting nation, is taking giant steps towards equality and sensitivity in the field of sports.

“Trailblazers” is going to be the biggest sports conclave in India and will talk about the critical issues of empowerment, mental health, sexism in sports, India's preparation for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the Paris Olympics 2024 and much more.

In the run-up to celebrating International Women's Day on March 8, the conclave is taking place on March 5 at the ITC Sonar in Kolkata.

It is a whole-day program where a galaxy of Indian sports legends will share the stage in highlighting key issues and scripting the way forward for sports in India.

As well as Abhinav Bindra and Neeraj Chopra, other participants will include Pullela Gopichand, Mirabai Chanu, Vijay Sharma, Rani Rampal, Vandana Katariya, Nikhat Zareen, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Tania Sachdev, Joshna Chinappa, Atanu Das, Deepika Kumari, Anju Bobby George, Adille Sumariwala, Kalyan Choubey, Deepa Malik and Devendra Jhajharia.

Discussion panels will also have well-known administrators and sports journalists. Olympic and Paralympic sports will be celebrated with equal spirit, and the conclave also aims to collapse any existing divide and bring the two worlds of sport together.
