Colombo, Sri Lanka, February 26, 2023: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka met with the primary stakeholders – the National Sports Federations – on Saturday, February 25 to discuss ways for putting in place a Strategic Plan for sports in the island.
The workshop, which took place at the Sri Lanka NOC Olympic House Headquarters in Colombo, was chaired by Maxwell de Silva, NOC Secretary General. The special guest was Professor Emmanuel Bayle, and heads of a number of national sports federations were also in attendance.
Bayle, who is a Professor in Sports Management at the Institute of Sports Sciences of the University of Lausanne, has been invited to mentor the Sri Lanka NOC’s Strategic Plan Development.
Professor Bayle arrived in Colombo earlier in February and will stay in the island for a month as he meets the various primary stakeholders in sports and consult on the Strategic Plan Development, a blueprint which is being designed to ultimately bring medal success for the island-nation at the international level.
