Pakistan Olympic Association picks winners of 19th Hangzhou Asian Games art competition

Lahore, Pakistan, February 21, 2023: The Pakistan Olympic Association has picked 10 art works from a nationwide competition for children, and these exhibits will be on display at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September.

The winners were named at a ceremony held on Tuesday, February 21, at the Art Museum located at Alhamra Art Centre on a colonial-period road in Lahore.

Gracing the ceremony was POA Vice President Syed M. Abid Qadri, POA Secretary General Mohammed Khalid Mahmoud and Olympic Council of Asia Director of Media and Broadcast Department, Jeans Zhou Jian.

A total of 80 entries were received from all over Pakistan. The competition was open to children aged 13 and under, and the art work of five boys and five girls was picked for display at the Hangzhou Asian Games from September 23 to October 8.

The POA also gave prize money for the top six – three boys and three girls. All participants also received a certificate.

On Monday, February 20, the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run was staged successfully in Lahore. Both the Fun Run and the Art Competition are part of the countdown to the Asian Games and are being held across all NOCs in Asia.
