Hockey president Tayyab Ikram visits IOC HQ

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 19, 2023: The new President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Tayyab Ikram, was welcomed to Olympic House by the IOC President, Thomas Bach.

Tayyab, who is Vice Chair of the OCA Athletes’ Committee and a member of the OCA Coordination Committee, was elected President of the FIH on November 5, 2022.

This was the first official visit to Olympic House by Tayyab in his new role as president of one of the biggest international sports federations in the Olympic Games.

During their meeting, they addressed a number of Olympic topics, including the preparations for the hockey competitions at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the international situation and the position of the Olympic Movement.

The FIH confirmed recently that the winners of the men's and women's hockey events at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China this year would earn automatic qualification for the 12-team hockey competitions at Paris 2024.
