Doha, Qatar, February 15, 2023: The Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, flagged off the Qatar leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run on Tuesday, February 14.
Delegates from the Olympic Council of Asia and the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee were present as more than 200 school children participated in the Fun Run held to raise awareness among Asian societies and celebrate the upcoming showpiece in Hangzhou, China.
The Asian Games, postponed from last year, will be held from September 23 to October 8.
On Monday, the Qatar Olympic Committee held a press conference to brief the media on the 12th National Sports Day. It was announced that National Sports Day would coincide with the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run.
The HAGOC delegation that visited Qatar included Mr. Liu Zhizhong, Deputy Director, Supervision and Audit Department.
Meanwhile, the National Sports Day celebrations were attended by Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and community Development.
Over 30 sports held demonstration events at the National Sports Day at the Team Qatar Village.
