Sri Lanka Athletes’ Commission concludes OCA's Athlete-Centered Project

Colombo, Sri Lanka, February 15, 2023: The Athletes’ Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, under the auspices of the

Olympic Council of Asia, completed its Athlete-Centered Project with phase two being conducted on Tuesday, February 14. The first phase was held in November 2022.

The Education for Career Athletes was held at the Sri Lanka NOC Headquarters in Colombo and was split into two sessions. 

The first session was conducted by Dr. Seevali Jayawickreme, Director General of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, together with Ms. Oh Min Jin, manager of the Testing Department of the Korea Anti-Doping Agency, who joined online.

The second session was conducted by Professor Ranjit Jayawardane, Professor of Nutrition from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.

Sri Lanka NOC is one of 13 NOCs across Asia to have benefited from the OCA's Athlete-Centered Project Fund. This project was held to educate athletes on multiple topics such as Olympic Values, Safe Sport, which included sexual harassment and abuse prevention, as well as the prevention of competition manipulation, nutrition, anti-doping and athletes’ post-career guidance.
